Wait, I have a blog??

I’ve been MIA for quite awhile now, being pulled in many different directions. Staying busy keeps my mind from wandering to dark places. I’ve picked up Magic the Gathering again. I was into it as a younger me and found my passion to play again. This time around, though, I’m actually attempting to learn to play correctly instead of, “oh this is a pretty card, I’ll play it and see what happens?”

In health-related news, I started the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred three days ago and let me tell you, OUCH. I let my exercise regime slip lately and then sprained my middle toe, so I’ve been really lazy. I also just got cable…which doesn’t help with getting OFF the couch to work out. My diet has faltered as well due to laziness. So, with the changing of the seasons comes a changing of the attitude. Back to strict diet, strict exercising, and running. Lots and lots of running!

Annabelle is beginning to be a lost cause, I fear. She spends 23 hours a day alone. Even when I attempt to play, cuddle, whatever. She just wants to be left alone. She had an allergic reaction to her medication so the new meds come in today. Attempt Two at helping her find her way again. She’s my beautiful princess and has been through so much so I’m not giving up on her just yet.

Well, that’s basically it. I haven’t maintained this blog in a long time so it really has no general direction, main idea, or topics of interest. LOL

B.

It’s life, Jim…but not as we know it.

Isn’t it funny how life just works itself out? The beginning of this year was awful for me. Relationship changes, wake-up calls, self-depreciating thoughts all kept me down. But, I managed to pull through, for the better and now my year is shaping up very nicely. I’ve run eight races, with three more scheduled, including the grueling Tough Mudder VA in October. I survived my first clogging performance and there are already three more scheduled for October and November. I’ve gotten two tattoos so far and am in the planning stages of my next one, a half sleeve on my arm.

Once I stopped feeling sorry for myself and being scared all the time, life just opened up so many new experiences and opportunities I’d never imagined before. I have a fantastic job, great friends in many states (great for my traveling bug fever), two wonderful little puppies, my family, and basically, my entire life just waiting for me to enjoy. I’m traveling more, allbeit little weekend trips but still fun, nonetheless. So far, twice to Jacksonville, and now Charlotte, NC (with my pups!) and Virginia Beach in August.

I still have my setbacks and my “what-ifs”, but nobody’s perfect. You’ve just got to go with your gut, and take care of  “YOU” before anyone else.

Livin’ ain’t easy but it sure is fun!
