Sunday’s List – 5 personal blogs I love!

This week’s list is top five personal blogs I love to follow! I’m a sucker for great, interesting blogs and have gathered my top five favorites. I highly recommend reading each of these, as each one presents a uniquely different approach on life in this chaotic world. Without further ado…here are the contenders!

5.Rin-Wendy

A cute concept, created by a married couple, detailing their daily lives together. The theme is excellently executed and easily readable. I enjoy their quirky sense of humor on life.

4.Adventures of a Barefoot Geek

adventures-of-a-barefoot-geek-by-david-turnbull_1259524947140I actually just came across this blog not even a week ago, and I’ve already read most of his posts. I absolutely loved his 33 Rules of Persistence. His blog is simple and yet full of useful information. I highly recommend it, whether as a resource or just for self-enrichment.

3.BLANKETRASH

blanketrash_1259525224991Also a new discover. This blog is absolutely brilliant! The posts are beautiful, the site is so simple. I actually get relaxed reading this blog.

2.Life Just Keeps Getting Weirder

life-just-keeps-getting-weirder_1259525567897My runner up was a hard choice. This blog is so witty and just great to read. I always crack up laughing, causing my boyfriend to glance in my direction, concerned for my sanity (and his, for that matter). I just love her writing style and her sense of humor jumps off the screen.

1. A Beautiful Mess

a-beautiful-mess_1259525727843I’ve mentioned this blog before, only because I LOVE her random, quirky spirit. I always find peace when reading her posts and adore her “lists” of favorites. Her theme is not only very creative, but also original. I picked her as my absolute favorite because there’s never a dull thing to read. Her portraits and hobbies are gorgeous. She has a gift and it shows through her blog.

Well, that’s this week’s list, folks. Check back next Sunday for the top six reasons I love the holidays!

floating cities, the future is now…

Have you heard? The Oasis of the Seas is now booking. This magnificent ship, managed by Royal Caribbean, is currently the largest cruise liner in existence. This 220,000 ton ship can support over 5,000 passengers during a voyage. Complete with an on board mall, two rock climbing walls, full spa and gym, and TWO ice rinks, the Oasis is truly the pinnacle of a floating city. Here’s a 3D image of the port of the ship. See the brand new AquaTheatre?

The ship is actually built, I just like this rendition better…

So, why would I care about this particular ship? Seeing the images of this vast behemoth immediately brought images of the Stargate Atlantis to my head. As most of the Stargate fans SHOULD know, Atlantis was actually a floating city, with the capacity to fly through space, of course. This city was powered by ancient technology and capable of sustaining human life for centuries.  Mankind has once again outdown themselves, in my opinion. So, I propose the future is now.  Should the world be covered in water, as it appears to be doing with global warming, the icecaps melting, and whatnot, then we are prepared.  I say, instead of spending billions of dollars on preventing global warming, we should be putting more money into researching technologies such as self-sustaining floating cities, preparing for the inevitable.  The future is now, we can’t stop the earth from doing what she is going to do. Instead, let us embrace it and work together in harmony and not against each other in war.

Stargate Atlantis

Our planet is changing. There is no denying that. But, I think the human race is rather arrogant to think there is anything we can do to prevent it. We should humbly accept the awesome power of our planet. Did you know that there are animals that can sense when a volcano is going to errupt? These animals will instinctively run to higher ground and caves to protect themselves from these eruptions. Not once in over hundreds of years, has the population of these animals dwindled. THAT’S harmony.
